Tweeting is still a very foreign way of social networking for me. I will probably be forever connected to Facebook and Instagram, but I have no idea where Twitter fits in.
I would probably take tweeting into my classroom as another method to gauge understanding in learning, but for my personal life, I feel no need to announce what I'm thinking or feeling at every moment of the day.
My brother is a huge fan of Twitter and loves to use hashtags. I don't get why I need to add hashtags to everything I post. It's a huge waste of time for me. I like seeing what everyone is up to, but do I really need to add a tag onto everything my post is related to?
Somebody please explain why I need Twitter in my life?
Totally how I feel about Twitter! I especially hate when reputable news sources report Tweets during news casts! Even more so when they contain slang and misspellings!
ReplyDeleteI downloaded Twitter not too long after it launched in 2006...then I never touched it again until 2012 after an agreement with a couple of teachers who were on a mission to finally try it out. Fast forward to 2015. I have a few posts and have viewed it probably a handful of times. I considered reasons why my activity on Twitter never took off---maybe it's the format that keeps me participating; maybe I was never also not fully committing to finding the affordances. Then I came across this article a while ago:

The fact that I can not relate to any of these reasons might be why...
The lesson I have learned though with Twitter and other tools that I do not particularly find useful for myself, it is my responsibility to better understand these tools in terms of use in education because others (teachers and K-12 students) do find them useful.
